Sandhills Public Schools Mission Statement
Life is a journey; education is the roadmap and compass.
The
communities of Brewster, Dunning,
Halsey, and Purdum consolidated to form a new school district;
Sandhills High School was established in 1973. The school
district encompasses approximately 1000 square miles. The current board
members are John Seeley, Jim Swisher, Lon Larsen, Kevin Anderson,
Christi Hafer and Mike Moody.
The Board members who were in office when Sandhills Public School District #71 was established
were: Richard F. Shinn, Jr., President; Alfred E. Schipporeit, Vice President; Walter A. Guggenmos, Secretary;
Marlene J. Milleson, Treasurer; Jimmie D. Kennedy, Member; and Gene A. Moody, Member. Mr. Paul Embree was
superintendent.
